VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Would you like to help the Recreation Assistant with activities – outings, special meals, socials, baking, games, crafts, bingo? Here is the opportunity for you.
The Sundre Hospital and Care Centre Continuing Care is looking for a volunteer one day a week or 3 times/month for 1 ½ to 3 hours per day.
Mealtime Assistant - Volunteer Training Program
This program is for anyone wishing to assist staff in providing Continuing Care to residents with an enjoyable evening meal experience in a comfortable, inviting and supportive environment.

Do you like to interact with little children? Maybe you have a special skill like reading, music, puppetry or just playing you could share.
Wednesdays from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Moms and babies attend the Sundre Breast Feeding Support group. While moms and babies are occupied the siblings of the babies need supervision.
Are you a person who likes to visit seniors in their homes and has one or two hours a week to spare?

Many Sundre seniors with disabilities need friendly visiting volunteers to enrich their lives. If you enjoy sharing interests with others and want to gain new friends contact us.

Volunteer Resources covers the Sundre Hospital and Care Centre, Sundre Community Health Centre and Sundre Mental Health in the David Thompson Health Region.
NOTE: Volunteer Resources may offer the following courses to train existing or prospective volunteers
as the need for more volunteers in these volunteer programs arises:
Palliative Care Volunteer Training
Designed to educate adult volunteers to support and comfort patients and/or their family/friends through the process of dying.
Dementia /Alzheimer Volunteer Workshop
Designed to educate colunteers to understand the disease process, to support, communicate
and inter-relate with those suffering from Dementia/Alzheimers.
Mealtime Host Volunteer Training
Designed to educate volunteers (starting at the age of 13 years old) to enhance the dining experience for clients in hospital or Continuing Care
through non-feeding assistance at mealtimes.
Doula Volunteer Training
Designed to educate volunteers to provide physical comfort measures, emotional support and informational support to women and partners
during childbirth.

Feeding Volunteer Training
Designed to educate volunteers to assist in feeding clients and enhancing the dining experience in hospitals and Continuing Care
facilities.
Caring Clown Training
Designed to educate volunteers to bring play, laughter and joy to clients,
residents and staff through humor and clowning techniques.
