Sundre is a striving town with an abundance of groups and organizations. Community minded people are all around us planning events or raising money for new projects. It is amazing how this small community of under 5000 people can accomplish so much.
This page has information on the clubs and service groups in our community and is listing contacts if you are interested to get involved.

A club is an association of people united by a common interest or goal. The service club for example, exists for voluntary or charitable activities; there are clubs devoted to hobbies and sports, social activities clubs, political and religious clubs, and so forth

Community Organizations and Programs
Bergen Ladies Aid
This group is quilting, sewing, knitting and baking for their annual auction sales to raise money for various charities. One main focus is helping to maintain the community cemetery.

Bergen Community Associate
Providing hall rental for community events such as weddings, showers, funerals and 4-H meetings.

Foothills Lodge Auxiliary
The group is fundraising to help purchase items that will make life more enjoyable for the residents of the Foothills Lodge. They also help for special occasions, as in monthly birthday parties, special tea parties etc. and seasonal interior decorating at the lodge.
Monthly meetings are on the first Monday at 12:30 pm at the foothills lodge craft room.

Mountainview Habitat for Humanity
Habitat for Humanity Canada is a national, non-profit, faith-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live.
The mission of the organization is to mobilize volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting homeownership as a means to breaking the cycle of poverty.

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #223
The members are a service organization with the focus on those who are or have served for the armed forces and their dependants.
Meetings are the first Thursday of the month at 8pm except July and August.

Sundre Order of the Royal Purple Auxiliary to the Elks #338
National, fraternal, charitable women’s organization indentifying and addressing community needs through the volunteer efforts of its membership.
Meetings are every second and fourth Monday at the Elks Lodge.

Sundre Community Van Association
Providing affordable transportation to residents in Sundre and area as well as to groups who request the service.

Sundre District Lions Club
1.3 million men and women in 202 countries and geographic areas conduct vision and health screenings, build parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarships, assist youth, provide help in time of disaster and much more.

Sundre Elks
The organization is raising money for the elderly, handicapped and children in need. Meetings are every second and fourth Thursday of the month at the Elks Hall. Bingo every Tuesday at 6:30 pm at the Elks hall.

Sundre Hospital Auxiliary
The group is fundraising to help purchase items for the Sundre Hospital by operating the Thrift Store and other fundraising means.

Providing co-coordinated educational and supportive services for Palliative Care with the Sundre region.
Meetings are on the second Wednesday monthly at 10 am at the municipal library.

A national, Canadian-owned, free greeting service for families experiencing a lifestyle changes such as moving to a new Neighbourhood, planning a wedding, expecting a baby a new executive manager or professional or new grandparents.

Governing Societies
Non profit organizations are governed by a volunteer board of directors. These boards are the decision making body for all aspects of the organization and/or a community building.
Bearberry Wapitana Society
The Bearberry Wapitana Society is a non-profit society. Its main purpose is the continuing support of the Bearberry Community Hall and Heritage & Arts Centre. Everyone is welcome to come to one of the meetings held every 4th Tuesday starting at 10:30 am at the Bearberry Community Hall

Greenwood Neighbourhood Place Society
The governing body of Greenwood Neighbourhood Place overseeing all programs funded by the government and municipality such as Healthy Families, Parent Link, Sundre Family Community Support Services, Youth Coordinator, Seniors Specialist and other.

The society is operating the Pioneer Museum, the Pioneer Village and the Chester Mjolsnes World of Wildlife Exhibit and special events such as art displays, Winter Fest and Canada Day celebrations.

Mountain View Community Literacy Society
