Sundre on the Go December 2005

A year has almost come and gone. Our community center has been involved with projects, people and events throughout the year. We hope our presence has made a difference and that we are able to support, encourage and enhance community involvement.

An average of 150 people are coming through our doors each month. The flood has connected us with even more families and volunteers in the community. We are amazed and very proud with the accomplishments our community has achieved.

Just to mention a view:
  • over 450 volunteer hours were spent to clean up residences at Sleepy Hollow in Westward Ho.

  • A world relief group of volunteers spent 957 hours repairing homes
  • Countless hours were spent by neighbours, relatives, friends and strangers helping stranded people during the flood

  • The Children's Fair attracted over 1000 people. There was information on a variety of topics regarding the social, mental and wellbeing of families and children.

  • A new Parent Link centre will be set up for of children zero to five this spring.

  • Funding for a new Home Work Club is in place and will start this winter at the River Valley School.

It is impossible to list all events and activities in this newsletter. We encourage you to read a full report on our programs and activities on this webpage.
