Healthy Families Program

Carol Bates is the Healthy Families Home visitor with an early childhood development background.

Carol Bates

is the Healthy Families Home Visitor with experience and an educational background in Early Childhood Development.

Healthy Families exists to provide support to families with children from birth to the age of five in areas of positive parenting, child development, and parent-child interaction through information, education and connections in the community.

Weekly home visits begin after the birth of the baby, or during the eighth month of pregnancy. Frequency of home visits decreases over time based on the family’s program criteria. Since Healthy Families is a voluntary program, families can choose to decrease or discontinue service at any time and is provided at no cost to them.

Families can be referred to the Healthy Families program by their Public Health Nurse or by the family themselves.

Carol can be reached through Greenwood Neighbourhood Place at 638-1011.
