Mountain View Community Literacy Program

BUILDING BLOCKS
is an in-home family literacy program to suppport parents as their child's first and most important teachers. A Literacy Builder meets with you in your home to help you find and use the tools to support your child's language and learning development.

Literacy Builders are able to share and model ideas to strengthen oral language abilities, reading and writing skills, and basic matermatics skills.

WHO?
Families with children from infants to age 13 years

WHERE/ WHEN?
In the familiy's own home, and at a time mutally agreeable to the family and the Builder

WHY?
  • ideas of neat things to do with your infants and toddlers
  • fun games and activities to develop and strengthen your child's pre-reading and pre-writing skills
  • strategies to support your school-aged child with reading, writing and basic math skills
