The Children’s Fair in Sundre featured many safety tips for kids and parents alike, including pointers on bike and helmet maintenance.
There where many things regarding children’s wellbeing.
The fair happened at the Sundre Curling Club on June 1,
running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free event was sponsored by GNP, Sundre FCSS, Mountain View County, Safe Kids Canada, Johnson and Johnson, and Shell Canada.
There where 40 exhibitors on hand, and more than 30 groups “to share their knowledge, enthusiasm and compassion about our children’s wellbeing.”
The Kidz Printz international child identification program was on hand. Interested parents were asked to bring a recent wallet size photo of their kid or kids.
Among the groups scheduled to take part were the David Thompson Health Region, Parkland Library, Mountain View Literacy, Nutrition for Learning, Sundre AquaPlex, the RCMP, SPOG and Shell Canada, the local fire department and many more.

The C.O.W. bus, a school bus painted on the outside to look like a Holstein cow, with its unique learning centre inside were on hand as well.
The bus provided a stepping-stone for families to access local literacy programs and contributed valuable literacy resources to communities.
Kids were encouraged to bring their bike helmets to have them checked and adjusted to fit properly.

The event was lots of fun and informative for parents, teachers, care givers and, of course, the kids, said Marita Stermann, organizator of the Childrens Fair 2005.
